EDWARD S. BROWN

Mr. Brown started his real estate career at the Chase Manhattan Bank where for four years he was a Senior Real Estate Lending Officer. In 1965 he joined Strouse, Greenberg and Company, a major Philadelphia-based real estate brokerage, management and development company. During his twenty-year tenure at Strouse, Greenberg, which culminated in the Presidency, Mr. Brown’s career centered around sophisticated financial structuring and the development of real estate ranging in size from $5,000,000 to $40,000,000.

Mr. Brown founded Strouse, Greenberg Financial Corporation and served as its President for 12 years. Strouse, Greenberg Financial Corporation operated under Mr. Brown’s direction and ownership as an independent financial consultant to major developers throughout the country. It specialized in the arranging of financing, joint ventures and sales of large institutional grade real estate with insurance companies, pension funds, and foreign money sources. In 1972 he became part of the four-person development team of Benjamin A. Strouse, Sydney N. Greenberg, Howard I. Abrams and Edward S. Brown who were responsible for all Strouse, Greenberg’s development projects. From 1972 to his departure from Strouse, Greenberg at the end of 1985, Mr. Brown was involved in approximately $400,000,000 of development. The projects include several major regional shopping centers as well as residential, industrial and office developments.

In 1986, Edward S. Brown formed the Edward S. Brown Group that was involved in the creation of high image, quality real estate developments. Working primarily in Philadelphia and Boston, Mr. Brown has executed such notable projects as the $75,000,000 development of The Piers at Penn’s Landing, the $30,000,000 renovation and upgrade of The Windsor Hotel, and the development and structuring of a $26,000,000 office building development in Brookline, Massachusetts. His development expertise earned him the 1989 Entrepreneur of the year award presented by Ernst & Young and INC. magazine.

Mr. Brown is a graduate of the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Each year he teaches a course in Real Estate Development at the University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Brown resides in Unionville, Pennsylvania with his wife Susan, their two children, their horses, and their dogs.
